Universal Studios Japan is a 108-acre theme park in Osaka that entertains more than 14 million annually.
This is the first Universal branded theme park in Asia and outside of the United States located in Osaka, Japan. Just like the Universal Studios Theme Parks in the United States, the park offers more than 50 different rides, shows, and experiences based on Hollywood movies and television franchises.
The theme park is divided into ten themed areas based on American cities, Hollywood movie and film franchises, and a popular Japanese video game company. Areas of the park are New York City, Hollywood, San Francisco, Jurassic Park™, Amity Village, WaterWorld, Minion Park, Universal Wonderland, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ and opening in 2020 Super Nintendo World.
Visitors will find a variety of rides, shows, and attractions appealing to all ages. Thrill-seekers will enjoy thrilling roller coasters and rides like Jurassic Park The Ride, The Flying Dinosaur and Hollywood Dream – The Ride. Film-based attractions include the immersive 3-D dark ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular, and the ever-popular Jaws.
Universal Studios Japan also is home to the first Harry Potter theme park outside of the United States. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is an immersive area with rides and attractions based on the Harry Potter film franchise. Rides include Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey a 3D indoor dark ride and Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster.
Besides the attractions, the park offers a variety of dining experiences, characters interactions, and plenty of opportunities to shop for souvenirs and gifts. Universal Studios Japan is open daily, welcoming guests all year long.
