Six Flags Over Georgia
Austell, Georgia
The Southeast's first theme park is situated on 290-acres west of Atlanta. Six Flags Over Georgia is one of the most beautiful theme parks with more than 100 acres of landscaped gardens as the setting for family fun.
The second Six Flags park in the country, like the original Six Flags Over Texas, the theme is based on the six different flags that have flown over Georgia– France, Spain, United Kingdom, the Confederacy, United States, and state of Georgia. Today the theme park has 13 themed sections, plus a recently added waterpark, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, that is included with admission.
Visitors will find more than 40 rides and attractions, including roller coasters, water rides, and a stomach-wrenching drop tower. Six Flags Over Georgia's largest roller coaster – Goliath – is the tallest steel coaster in the Southeast. Other popular thrill rides are Superman Ultimate Flight, Batman The Ride and the stand-up freefall tower– Acrophobia.
Six Flags Over Georgia makes the claim that great shows and great rides are what have kept five generations of families coming back year-after-year.
