Located 15 miles east of Washington D.C. and 30 miles southwest of Baltimore is Six Flags America theme park and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park.
This 131-acre attraction in Maryland is both a water park and theme park for one admission price that offers more than 100 rides, shows and attractions in eight themed areas.
Six Flags America's theme park has more than four-dozen rides, including eight roller coasters. The park's newest attraction Apocalypse, is a thrilling, 10-story tall stand-up steel roller coaster with two inversions.
For younger guests, the park has both the LOONEY TUNES Movie Town and Whistlestop Park kids areas with plenty of rides and features for children and their parents to enjoy.
The adjacent and included Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park is open seasonally. The water park offers a variety of attractions for all-ages, including a giant wave pool, lazy river, water playgrounds and thrilling water rides. Some of the more popular attractions are the Bahama Blast triple dip tube ride, Tornado multi-rider tube ride that descends into a giant six-story tall funnel, and ZoomAzon Falls body slides.
During the summer months the crowds will often flock to the water park to cool off, leaving the theme park far less crowded.
Six Flags America also has several shows, special events, and concerts, plus plenty of games of chance and a large selection of food stands.
