Disneyland Shanghai

The first Disneyland Park in Mainland China welcomed huge crowds when the Shanghai Disney Resort opened in June 2016.

Shanghai Disneyland is based on the original Disneyland Park, but with distinct differences to appeal to Chinese tourists' tastes. The park offers seven theme lands– Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Fantasyland, Treasure Cove, Adventure Isle, Tomorrowland, and the most recently added– Toy Story Land. The park offers more than 30 rides and attractions, many of them original to this property.

At the center of the park stands Enchanted Storybook Castle, themed to Disney Princesses. Unlike other Disneyland Parks the "hub" or center of the park was replaced with an 11-acre land of gardens, Gardens of Imagination, featuring each of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. Rides are present in this area including the Fantasia Carouse, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and a Marvel Universe character meet-and-greet.

The Castle is the largest in any Disney theme park standing 197-feet and houses a the Royal Banquet Hall restaurant, a boutique, and one of the park's original rides Voyage to the Crystal Grotto boat ride that takes guests past scenes from Disney films like Tangled, Aladdin, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.

Tomorrowland, the park's land themed to the future, features another original attraction – TRON Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster – instead of Space Mountain.

Treasure Island is a land based on a 18th-century Spanish harbor town on a Caribbean island. This original land is home to another unique Disney attraction Battle for the Sunken Treasure an elaborate, magnetic propelled dark ride based on the popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

In Adventure Isle guests can ride a river rapids ride called Roaring Rapids that descends the land's Roaring Mountain or fly across the world on a hang glider on Soarin Over The Horizon.

Disney's most popular land Fantasyland offers guests the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster, and dark rides– Peter Pan's Flight and he Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Disneyland Shanghai's most recent expansion added Toy Story Land with three new rides.

Entertainment offerings include the nightly Ignite the Dream, A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light pyrotechnics and projection show on the castle and Mickey's Storybook Express performing on the longest parade route in any Disney park.
