Santa's Village Azoosment Park
East Dundee, Illinois
Santa's Village Azoosment Park celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2014. After a brief four-year closure Santa's Village in East Dundee reopened in October 2010. The park dates back to 1959 and was the third village of its kind built by Glenn Holland of Arcadia, California.
This holiday theme park is designed to resemble a child's imagination of what Santa's own village would look like.
Today, the park is a combination of amusement park rides and live animal exhibits. The amusement park offers 19 thrilling rides to entertain all ages. Rides include favorites like a Carousel, Tilt-a-Whirl, children's Ferris wheel and swinging Sea Dragon. A couple of classic rides – the Kiddie Whip Ride and Midge-O-Racers – are from the now defunct Melrose Park Kiddieland.
Santa's Village Azoosment Park is also part zoo and houses over 200 animals and critters, including birds, fish, and of course, Santa's reindeer. Children can take a pony ride or feed the park's animals in the petting zoo.
