Kiddieland

Melrose Park's Kiddieland closed forever on September 27, 2009. The park has since been redeveloped into a retail center.

Founded by Arthur E. Fritz in 1929, Kiddieland was Chicago's oldest amusement park and had the reputation of being one of the finest traditional parks in the country.

Kiddieland had over 30 rides and attractions including a classic 1925 carousel, log ride and Little Dipper, a junior wooden roller coaster. This was also the last of several Kiddieland Parks that used to operate in the United States.
