Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States and definitely worth the trip to Allentown, Pennsylvania. The park is easily accessed from New York City, Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas.

The origin of this 200-acre attraction dates back to 1884. Today, Dorney Park is known for its outstanding rides, midway games, live shows, and the Wildwater Kingdom water park that is included with park admission. In total, you'll find 59 rides, including 7 roller coasters and 18 water rides.

Dorney Park's collection of roller coasters includes floorless, inverted, and suspended coasters, plus the iconic 200-foot tall Steel Force with a top speed of 75 miles per hour. All of these are amazing rides that should not be missed.

For those looking for a little of the park's history then venture over to The Whip, and take a spin on the park's oldest ride. The park also has attractions like a nine-story tall Giant Wheel, river rapids ride, log flume ride and plenty of the spinning variety as well.

The adjacent Wildwater Kingdom is a large water park that has waterslides, two tubing rivers, two wave pools and much more. In total, there are 22 waterslides to enjoy. In recent years the park has added a second wave pool – Wildwater Cove – and a six-lane racing mat slide – Aqua Racers. For youngsters, there are three areas within the water park with kiddie slides, bubbling fountains, and other interactive features just for them.

In 2011, Dorney Park will open Planet Snoopy, an interactive play area featuring the PEANUTS™ characters for children and their parents. This 3.5-acre, $8-million self-contained theme park for kids has rides, shows, a souvenir store, and concessions all based on the popular cartoon strip characters. Here is also where your children will be able to meet and greet the entire PEANUTS™ gang, including Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Woodstock, and of course, Snoopy.

During the summer the park will present several shows starting the PEANUTS™ characters, including an all-new ice-skating show starring Snoopy.
