Castle Park

Riverside, California

Castle Park is a unique, family amusement park, miniature golf course and arcade that has been serving Riverside, Corona and the Inland Empire since 1976.

The park is the creation of 'Bud' Hurlbut, who began his career in the amusement industry by designing and building two of Knott's Berry Farm's signature attractions – the Calico Mine Ride and Timber Mountain Log Ride.

Castle Park offers a variety of amusement rides and attractions on twenty-five acres of award-winning landscaped grounds. Many speed by this park on the 91 Freeway daily, but this is one attraction that is well worth your time.

The Castle portion of the property includes four of the most elaborately designed and well-landscaped miniature golf courses in the country. Each course incorporates waterfalls, fountains and features to keep the play challenging. A visit here is never complete without playing a round.

Inside the Castle you'll find a large arcade with video game arcade state-of-the-art video games and some pastime favorites, plus the Ghost Blasters interactive, multi-level dark ride. Think of a giant shooting gallery that you ride through. It's really quite fun.

Next door is the "Ride Park" with 27 different amusement rides and attractions. This is where Castle Park really shines. Here you'll find family friendly attractions like the Log Ride, two family roller coasters Screamin' Demon and Merlin's Revenge, plus the only flying skooter ride in Southern California – Dragon Flyer.

Fans of trains won't want to miss the Castle Park Railroad that takes you on a scenic tour of the park grounds or the Riverside Express, a miniature mine car train that is powered by a scale model replica of an old-fashioned, coal-burning locomotive.

Castle Park is also home to a rare 1905 Dentzel Carousel. This spectacular amusement device is more than 100-years-old and runs with the original hand carved horses and four chariot seats.

If some of the attractions remind you of the past then possibly you remember them from Knott's Fiesta Village. Both the Tilt-a-Whirl and the Antique Car Ride (a.k.a. Tijuana Taxi) that lets you drive through a themed area complete with miniature buildings and more are relocated rides that live on here.

Admission to Castle Park is free. Rides and attractions are priced on an individual or pay-one-price basis. The Castle and miniature golf courses are open daily, and the ride park operates on weekends, holidays and daily during the summer.
