Camden Park

Huntington, West Virginia

This family owned amusement park opened as a picnic spot on a street car line between Huntington and Ashland, Kentucky in 1903 and transformed into an amusement park in 1950. Today, Camden Park still survives as a traditional amusement park that offers guests 27 rides, including two wooden coasters, two water rides and a classic dark ride.

The park's main draw is the historic Big Dipper and Lil' Dipper roller coasters, both recognized as an ACE Coaster Classic by the American Coaster Enthusiasts group. More than 50 years old each, the coasters still offer visitors a thrilling good time.

Other major rides found here are a Log Ride, Paratrooper and a historic Haunted House dark ride that is one of only two gravity powered ones still in operation today. For children under four-feet tall, the Kiddie Land has nine classic rides just for them like a Kiddie Whip and more than 100-year-old Carousel.
