A visit to Belmont Park is never complete without ride on the park's signature wooden coaster, the Giant Dipper. This historic roller coaster has been carefully restored and dates back to the opening of the original park. It's of such significance that it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Other rides include spinning thrillers like the Beach Blasters, Control Freak and recently opened Octotron. There are also several classic amusement rides like the bumper cars, Tilt-A-Whirl and a Carousel.
Belmont Park is also home to the Wave House offering both a FlowRider and FlowBarrel simulated wave surfing machines. Both use powerful pumps to propel thousands of gallons of water a minute to create a perfect ocean wave for riding.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Belmont Park's The Plunge is the largest indoor public swimming pool in San Diego. Built in 1925, it's heated to 84 degrees year round and should not be missed.
