Gurnee, IL – Coming soon to Six Flags Great America – JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis – the next generation in immersive thrill rides. This 4D interactive ride is in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment.
Slated to open at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2016 this new thrill ride will feature advanced technology, special effects and high definition 3D animation, fully immersing riders into the city of Metropolis and the gaming experience.
Seated in six-passenger vehicles, guests become part of the JUSTICE LEAGUE Reverse Team and engage in a journey as they battle alongside familiar DC comics characters – Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Great Lantern – against Lex Luthor, The Joker and his henchmen.
"Introducing an attraction that combines this level of technology and the iconic DC Comics characters will bring an unmatched, interactive experience to our guests in 2016," stated Hank Salemi, park president. "The addition of JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis is another example of our park's commitment to delivering new and innovative thrills every year."
A 22,000 square-foot Hall of Justice will house the new attraction. Guests will wear special 3-D glasses and carry a working stun gun for battle during the ride.
During the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis' ride guests will experience special effects, like wind, fire, mist, and fog effects, plus life-like animatronic characters. Ten high-intensity scenes make up the thrill ride, including one of the first ever-virtual loops, giving riders the feeling of going head over heels.
Six Flags Great America expects to debut the JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis to park guests in spring 2016.
