Universal's Superstar Parade and Cinematic Spectacular To Open May 8

Orlando, FLUniversal Orlando Resort will debut both its new interactive parade and nighttime show together. The all-new Universal Superstar Parade and Universal's Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories will both have their grand opening at the Universal Studios Florida theme park on May 8.

The new entertainment offerings follow the recent re-launch of The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and the opening of the new Hollywood Drive-In Miniature Golf course at Universal's CityWalk. And later this summer Universal Studios Florida will open the new Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride.

Universal's Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories nighttime show will celebrate Universal Pictures' most iconic films with an innovative, high-tech symphony of imagery, light, sound and special effects. Fun, dramatic, awe-inspiring moments from nearly 200 movies will be featured representing approximately 300 Academy Award nominees and 100 Academy Award winners.

Universal Orlando will present the Cinematic Spectacular nightly on the Universal Studios Florida lagoon starting May 8, 2012.

Academy Award-winning actor and Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille honoree Morgan Freeman will narrate the nighttime spectacular.

The films will be projected in crystal-clear clarity on cutting-edge waterfall screens on the theme park's lagoon surrounded by colorful, dramatically synchronized fountains and pyrotechnics and all against a powerful musical score.

Universal says the experience will take guests on an emotional journey through epic cinematic moments filled with heroes, horror, laughter, good vs. evil and triumph. The park will present the show year-round on most nights.

The second new entertainment show Universal's Superstar Parade will offer an interactive parade with some of today's beloved characters and stories. Presented in the streets of Universal Studios, the parade will feature larger-than-life floats, state-of-the-art technology and hundreds of energetic street performers. Guests will get to sing and dance along with their favorite characters including the minions from the blockbuster animated feature Despicable Me, E.B. from the hit comedy, Hop, Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora & Diego.
