Worlds of Fun Prowler Wins 'Best New Ride' Golden Ticket

Kansas City, MO — Prowler wooden coaster was named the "Best New Attraction" by Amusement Today at the 2009 Golden Ticket Awards. Prowler brings home World of Fun's first Golden Ticket with its critically acclaimed high speed, low to the ground curves, and smooth ride all in a wooded setting.

The new $8-million wooden coaster from Great Coasters International was custom designed and built for the topography of Worlds of Fun. The two-and-a-half minute chase begins with the ride's only feature above the trees' cover, a swooping 85-foot plummet into a ravine.

"We are truly honored to receive Amusement Today's Golden Ticket for 'Best New Attraction'," states Frank Wilburn, Vice President and General Manager at Worlds of Fun. "Great Coasters International (GCI) built an amazing ride that we knew would be very special for not only our park but for Kansas City."

The Golden Ticket Awards presented by industry publication Amusement Today are some of the most prestigious awards in the amusement industry.
