Wiggles World at Six Flags Great America to Open Saturday

Gurnee, IL -- The Wiggles to make their debut at Six Flags Great America when the park opens for the 2007 season this Saturday, May 5. The new "Wiggles World" themed area is the park's third area devoted to kids, and offers new pint-sized adventures designed just for them.

The newly themed children's area is Six Flags Great America's third area devoted to kids. Zoom S.S. Feathersword Pirate Ship is one of several new attractions in Wiggles World. Zoom Wiggles World at Six Flags Great America features rides such as The Big Red Plane ride. Zoom The Wiggles' cast of supporting characters: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus make daily appearances and perform in an all-new show. Zoom

"Today's announcement represents Six Flags Great America's continued focus on family entertainment," said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America's Vice President and General Manager.

Six Flags new Wiggles World is themed after the world's most popular children's entertainers. The Wiggles are especially popular with children ages 2-6.

The Wiggles performs before more than one million audience members a year. To date, they have sold more than 22 million DVDs and videos and more than 5 million albums worldwide. The Wiggles popular television show has been broadcast on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney since 2002.

Six Flags Great America is one of three Six Flags parks adding Wiggles World this year. The two other parks are Six Flags New England and Six Flags Great Adventure.

Six Flags Wiggle World's feature specially-themed rides and attractions featuring the popular Wiggles characters.

New attractions at Six Flags Great America include The Big Red Car ride, The Big Red Plane ride, Dorothy's Rosy Tea cups, Bouncin' with Wags ride, Henry's Splash Fountain, the S.S. Feathersword Pirate Ship play area, and the "Get Ready To Wiggle" show featuring the Wiggles' friends.

"In addition to our world-class coaster collection and unparalleled line-up of thrill rides, the park now features three distinct areas devoted to families with young children, offering entertainment and thrills for all ages," added Salemi.

Six Flags will also be selling Wiggles merchandise in park gift shops and serving healthy meals at the Yummy Yummy Café.

"Wiggles World" will be populated by The Wiggles' cast of supporting characters: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus, who will pose for photos and perform in daily shows.

The Wiggles themselves, Anthony, Sam, Jeff and Murray, will make an appearance and perform at Six Flags Great America on May 28, 2007.

Six Flags Great America opens for the 2007 season on Saturday, May 5. The park will be open weekends through May 22 and then daily operation starts on May 23.
