Geauga Lake Readies New Attractions For 2007 Season

Aurora, OH -- Parent company Cedar Fair will introduce a variety of improvements at Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom for the upcoming season.

The amusement park will open two brand-new shows the "Magic and Comedy of Tim Hill" and "LEGO Racers" this summer.

Located in the Palace Theatre, guests will be treated to the comedic antics and unbelievable magic of Tim Hill. The park says you can call Hill a funny magician or an amazing comedian that will leave guests wondering, "How did he do that?"

Across the amusement park in the Harbor Theatre, "LEGO Racers" is a new family-friendly movie that will put guests in the middle of the action. Wearing 3-D glasses, moviegoers will feel the excitement as the adventure unfolds around them.

LEGO Racers features animated race-car-driver Max Axel racing his opponent through a series of challenging terrains. Each time Max and his crew face a difficult situation, teamwork, creativity and imagination save the day.

Geauga Lake's new shows will be complimented by a renovated restaurant and two new dining options this season.

Jukebox Café in the park's 1950s section will be completely renovated for 2007. New black-and-white checkered flooring, red parlor-style chairs and booths and new wall coverings and memorabilia will highlight the changes at this family restaurant.

The restaurant features a build-your-own burger station, chicken fingers and salads. The park will also serve up kids meals made just for them and served inside a miniature 1950s-style car.

A new sandwich show called Aunt Em's will open in Western Village and for the first time the park will offer fried chicken dinners. These family favorite meals will be served at the new Lunch Basket, formerly the Hot Dogger.

Waterpark guests will also find more VIP cabanas in the 17-acre Wildwater Kingdom waterpark that opened in 2005. Located adjacent to Tidal Wave Bay, a 390,000-gallon wave pool, the VIP cabanas will include lounge chairs, a table and chairs for dining and full food and beverage service.

"We are very excited about the upcoming season," stated Bill Spehn, vice president and general manager of Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom. "These new additions and upgrades will not only improve the overall guest experience at Geauga Lake, they also show our commitment to making Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom the perfect summertime family destination."

Two of Geauga Lake's thrilling rides, Head Spin and Texas Twister received a makeover with a new paint job.

In total, Geauga Lake this summer will feature more than 40 rides and attractions, plus the 17-acre waterpark, but a few familiar rides will be absent when the park reopens.

This winter the park removed and relocated the X-Flight roller coaster to Kings Island amusement park in Cincinnati. Also, the Steel Venom roller coaster and the Bel Aire Express have been retired.

According to Geauga Lake, the Steel Venom will be relocated to another Cedar Fair amusement park at a later date.

One final change for the upcoming season will be the introduction of a smoke-free environment. Smoking will only be allowed in new designated smoking areas.

Smoking will be prohibited outside of these areas or anywhere in the Wildwater Kingdom waterpark. The park said the designated areas will have seating and shade.
