Kemah Boardwalk Building Gravity Group Roller Coaster

Kemah, TX -- Texans are getting a brand-new wooden roller coaster next year at Kemah Boardwalk according to Amusement Today. The new roller coaster designed by The Gravity Group will be built on a one-acre footprint next to the Saltgrass Steak House.

The new 3,256 foot long roller coaster will stand nine-stories and have a first drop of 92 feet. Because of the compact footprint, The Gravity Group designed more crossovers into the layout than any other wooden coaster. Two six-car trains from Philadelphia Toboggan Coaster Co. will operate on the roller coaster, reaching a top speed of 51 mph.

Site preparation is well underway and vertical construction is expected to begin this week.
