Bloomington, MN -- Mall of America plans to spend more than one billion on the Phase II expansion of America's largest shopping mall. The addition includes new rides for the theme park, a full-service hotel, new stores and a 6,000-seat performing arts theatre.
Mall officials Monday said they plan to spend $25 million on new rides and attractions at the Park at MOA. A new Eurofighter roller coaster designed by Gerstlauer is planned to debut in 2008.
Construction on the new roller coaster is expected to begin sometime next year. The rest of the new rides and attractions will be built over the next two years.
