Halloween Event Returns To Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal City, CA -- Universal Studios Hollywood theme park opens the gates again this October for Halloween Horror Nights after a several year absence. The Halloween event has been an annual event at Universal's Orlando theme parks.

This year the Hollywood studio park will open its famed Backlot for the Halloween event. Guests will be allowed to exit the trams at specified areas, including the Psycho House. This will be a first in the studio's history.

The story of Halloween Horror Nights begins with The Director, a crazed horror director, who alters the rides and attractions to fit the horror motif. Guests will come in contact with actors throughout the park for a horrifying interactive experience.

For the event Universal is modifying the popular Waterworld stunt show into Slaughter World. Also, two walk-through sets called "Chucky's Insultorium" and "Carnival of Carnage" are being built. Chucky's Insultorium will blend horror with humor, while Carnival of Carnage will showcase medieval torture, glass eaters and human pincushions.

Former members of Oingo Boingo and Supertramp, which formed the new group The Mutaytor will perform several times each night. The group mixes performances with pyrotechnics and other theatrical elements for Halloween.

Tickets for Halloween Horror Nights are limited and now on-sale. The event will be held Friday and Saturdays, plus Halloween night from October 13 - 31. Tickets are $34 to $39 in advance.
