Santa Clara, CA -- Paramount's Great America kicks off its 30th season this Saturday, April 1. The Northern California theme park has entertainmed more than 60 million guests since opening to the public as Marriott's Great America March 20, 1976.
Paramount's Great America celebrates its 30th anniversary with a brand new show. Beginning April 1 and running once daily at 10 a.m., SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and a cast of Nickelodeon friends and performers will unite inside the park's front gate for a special performance featuring lively dancing, stilt walkers and jugglers. A special meet and greet in front of the park's majestic Carousel Columbia allows kids to say hello and wrap their arms around their favorite NickToons as they begin their day at the park.
The City of Santa Clara will also recognize Paramount's Great America's 30th anniversary during its scheduled city council meeting April 11 at 7 p.m. at 1500 Warburton Avenue. The public is invited to join City of Santa Clara Mayor Patricia Mahan, Paramount's Great America's senior vice president and general manager Rod Rankin and Nickelodeon characters for special remarks commemorating the park's rich 30-year history in Silicon Valley.
