Buena Park, CA -- Knott's Berry Farm is rolling back their adult admission price to $39.95 from its current price of $45. The new pricing mirrors similiar rollbacks that occurred in 2002 when Knott's reduced the child admission and 2005 when they reduced the senior admission.
"Cedar Fair's CEO is sensitive to the fact that entertainment properties across the country are raising their prices, making a day at a theme park out of reach for the average consumer," said Cedar Fair's COO, Jack Falfas. "In response to his concerns, Knott's Berry Farm has decided to lower their adult admission rate and put a hold on any price increases on our food and beverage items."
Knott's price cuts goes against the industry trend of raising the price at the front gate.
Six Flags recently lead the industry with major price hikes at most of its theme parks. The posted single day admission at Magic Mountain provides plenty of shock value since it is now higher than the posted price at Disneyland.
In addition to the admission price savings Knott's also announced that it has cut the price on one of its most popular concession items, cotton candy. The concotion of spun sugar sugary will now cost only 25 cents.
