Ligonier, PA -- For the first time in its 128-year history, amusement park fans, families and kids will be treated to a special "Hallowboo" celebration this fall, beginning October 1st at Idlewild & Soak Zone- one of the "best kid's parks" in the world.

"We have created the most fun and enjoyable Halloween experience for families and kids in western Pennsylvania with several Hallowboo attractions - each with a unique theme and level of excitement," says Brandon Leonatti, General Manager of Idlewild & SoakZone. "It's the Idlewild our fans know and love with a fun, family-oriented, Happy Halloween twist. Guests will enjoy beautiful fall foliage and most of the rides and attractions of Olde Idlewild, Jumpin' Jungle, Hootin' Holler, Story Book Forest and Raccoon Lagoon.

Some of the park's most popular venues have been completely redesigned and redecorated in a fun Halloween and fall theme with pumpkins, cornstalks and scarecrows. Ricky Raccoon and other characters and team members will don costumes and be on hand to guide families through Hallowboo. Included in the admission price are five major attractions and a wide variety of family fun entertainment such as: Trick or Treating throughout Story Book Forest sponsored by Snyder's of Berlin, Boyer Candy, and Swedish Fish and Sour Patch brand candies; mask making and other children's activities sponsored by The Pittsburgh Children's Museum, a hay bale maze; the Haunted Hollow train ride; and two themed shows performed three times per day. Spookier attractions include "Confusing Hilda's," where Hilda the witch casts a spell on her guests that make them see strange and unusual things and "The Parlor" - a tour of a creepy funeral home. Concessions include many fall favorites such as hot apple dumplings, cider, and pumpkin ice cream.
