Freefall Slides Coming To Dollywood's Splash Country

Pigeon Forge, TN -- Brave souls visiting Dollywood's Splash Country water park will have another attraction to try next summer. The new Fire Tower Falls, twin 70-foot tall freefall speed slides will become the park's tallest and fastest waterslides when they debut in 2006.

The new attraction to be built on the water park's Mountain Waves wave pool deck propel riders down two slides through the treetops on a journey that ends adjacent to the neighboring Bear Mountain Fire Tower attraction. A new walkway will be built connecting the two areas and provide guests with convenient access to the new freefall waterslides.

"Fire Tower Falls is designed to provide a thrilling water adventure, and Dollywood's Splash Country's mountain setting provides the ideal backdrop to make this ride experience one of our most exciting additions ever," said Gene Scherrer, Dollywood's Splash Country General Manager.

According to Dollywood, this new high-speed waterslide requires a 140-foot water-filled lane that catches riders and brings them to a stop with a big splash.

Construction on Fire Tower Falls is set to begin in October.

Dollywood's Splash Country water park is located adjacent to Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
