Ligonier, PA -- There will be a new way to cool off this summer when Idlewild & SoakZone open for the 128th season on May 26.
Paul Bunyan's Loggin' Toboggan, named after legendary lumberjack, Paul Bunyan is a brand-new log flume ride located in the Hootin' Holler area of the park.
"This new ride is the highlight of our summer season of fun," said Brandon Leonatti, general manager of Idlewild & Soak Zone.
"While guests are waiting to board the ride, they will be entertained by a humorous tale of Paul Bunyan and Babe his big blue ox," said Leonatti. "Our guests will have a lot of fun discovering that there is no taller tale in Pennsylvania than that of Paul Bunyan's Loggin' Toboggan and how he created the Laurel Highlands landscape."
Idlewild's new family ride features a 534-foot long trough which log shaped boats seating three to five ride in while floating in swift flowing water. Riders will weave through the rustic surroundings until they begin their 125-ascent up three stories.
The thrill comes in the final splashdown that will most certainly be cooling on a hot summer day.
