Cedar Fair Spending $7 Million At Worlds Of Fun

Kansas City, MO -- Cedar Fair reports that it will spend $7 million on improvements at Worlds of Fun for the 2005 season. The highlight of the capital expenditures will be the introduction of a new multi-level children's activity area in Camp Snoopy and a luxury camping complex called Worlds of Fun Village.

The camping complex will be the first overnight guest accomodations at the park and feature 20 cottages, 22 cabins, 80 deluxe RV sites, a clubhouses with swimming pool and other ammenities. Worlds of Fun Village will be within walking distance of the theme park and neighboring Oceans of Fun water park.

"We're very excited about the capital expenditure programs we have planned at Cedar Point and Worlds of Fun for the 2005 season," said Kinzel. "The continued investment in new attractions and the upgrading of existing facilities is a significant element of our long-term growth strategy, and we're confident that next season's capital investments at both parks will be very popular with our guests."

The $7 million being invested at Worlds of Fun is part of the total $80 million being invested at Cedar Fair's twelve properties. Included in the $80 million are new roller coasters at Knott's Berry Farm and Dorney Park. A new multi-million dollar water park at Geauga Lake and the maXair thrill ride coming to Cedar Point.

"These improvements underline our dedication to offering the best in thrill rides and family entertainment," Kinzel said. "Including the $80 million in expenditures for the 2005 season, Cedar Fair will have invested more than $385 million at its parks since 2000."
