Houston, TX -- Six Flags and Direct Energy have formed a two-year strategic alliance making Direct Energy the "official energy company" for Six Flags' Texas theme parks and water parks.

The alliance gives Six Flags competitive energy rates for its parks and tools to help manage their energey usage. As the "official energy company" for Six Flags, Direct Energy Business services will supply more than 47 gigawatt hours of electricity to the parks annually.

Direct Energy will benefit from a marketing partnership, which will leverage branding, promotions and sales opportunities direct to the consumer.

"We look for partners who have both strong brand recognition and reputation, and that reach a geographically diverse customer base, so the partnership with Six Flags is especially exciting," said Phil Tonge, president, Direct Energy. "Six Flags is a mainstay of family entertainment, while Direct Energy is a mainstay for a family's home."

The agreement covers Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington; Six Flags Astroworld in Houston; and Six Flags SplashTown in Spring, Texas. Direct Energy will also be a marketing partner for Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, under its CPL Retail Energy brand.
