Athol, ID -- Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, Idaho reports that they have broken their previous attendance record thanks in part to their new star attraction, Tremors.
According to park officials 328,000 guests have visited the park so far this year. That exceeds the previous record of 311,000 set in 1996.
Park officials said that they might exceed 350,000 before the season ends in late-October.
This year's attendance increase can be attributed to the parks aggressive marketing plan and to Tremors, a new wooden roller coaster, which opened in May.
The increase in attendance also helped local businesses, especially for nearby hotels who are also reporting an increase in business.
