Doswell, VA -- A teenager jumped off the Shockwave roller coaster train at Paramount's Kings Dominion, claiming his safety restraint was too loose.
Park officials said that the 13-year-old jumped off the moving train after he believed that his safety harness was not locked down and failed to get the attention of the ride operators.
Fortunately, he was not seriously hurt in the incident, which took place on Thursday afternoon, September 2.
According to reports the boy jumped while the train was in motion traveling up the 95-foot high lift hill. He landed and twisted his ankle on the adjoining catwalk.
Park officials closed the ride for an inspection and found no problems. It is believed the restraint was locked down and working properly.
