Sandusky, OH -- Cedar Fair LP said that it would modify the track on all of the company's wooden roller coasters to prevent a similar accident like the one on the GhostRider at Knott's Berry Farm.
Metal straps and ribbed nails will used to wrap the layers of wood which form the coaster track, according to Richard L. Kinzel, the chief executive officer.
Five individuals sustained minor cuts and abrasions while riding the GhostRider two weeks ago, when a piece of wood suddenly flew from the track striking the passengers.
The company hopes that the modifications to track will prevent any chance of a similar accident.
