Charlotte, NC -- An inspirational celebration of gospel music takes center stage at Paramount's Carowinds on Saturday, Sept. 2, when the 100-acre water and theme park presents its first-ever Praise Celebration.
A new addition to the park's series of Christian music festivals, Praise Celebration features Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers. Lawrence, one of modern Gospel's most sought-after writers, has taken the talent of a 35-voice electrically-charged choir and produced powerful music. The latest album release by the Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers, tri-city4.com, is filled with ballads of edgy urban hip-hop, smooth contemporary R&B and soul-stirring lyrics of praise and worship.
Also performing at this faith-filled gospel festival is two-time Dove Award-Winner Helen Baylor. Baylor's lastest album release, Helen Baylor Live, is an eclectic, praise and worship album that touches on the great theme of her life: her deliverance and gratitude for being kept by God's grace.
Also playing on the Paladium Ampitheatre main stage is Richard Smallwood and Cynthia Jones. Paladium performances begin at approximately 4 p.m.
Popular regional performers kick off Praise Celebration beginning at 11 a.m. on the Paramount Theatre Stage. Artists performing at this location include: Merridith Spears, David L. Wilson, Mae Newton, Rhue Webster, and Chosen 4 Christ.
