Aquatic Development Group to Design and Build Waterpark at Six Flags Great Adventure

Cohoes, NY -- Aquatic Development Group, Inc., announces a major Waterpark project in Jackson, New Jersey that is scheduled to open for the 2000 season. As the design and engineering phases are nearing completion, construction is now underway.

The project will be designed, engineered and built by Aquatic Development Group, Inc. The new 35-acre waterpark is being constructed adjacent to Six Flags Great Adventure, which is owned and operated by Premier Parks Inc.

This massive park is set within a mature forest of oak and pine trees, and will feature a unique theme/story line that takes place on a tropical island. A stand-alone facility, it will have its own parking, ticketing and entrance within the Great Adventure property.

The waterpark will highlight a mammoth-sized 45,000-sq/ft WaveTek wavepool with system capabilities that allow for a broad range of wave types and heights for multiple applications. The pool will pneumatically generate parallel surfing waves of up to five feet high, as well as four different recreational wave patterns making it quite flexible in its programming offerings.

The ADG design will incorporate a 2,300-LF meandering lazy river that will be a popular family attraction as it is planned to encompass most of the park. The river, is not only an attraction, but will become a form of transportation around the park due to its many entrance/exit points providing tubers an opportunity to conveniently start and stop their journey.

A 60,000-sq/ft family activity area is designed to be accessible from 360¡ and features many interactive play structures and water rides for children and parents to enjoy. The park will also include six separate slide structures (18 water slides total) ranging in size and thrill levels.

The ADG design incorporates two food service buildings, a gift shop, tube rental buildings, changing room buildings and restrooms. The natural building materials that are planned to be used will further enhance the overall appearance of the park and will also emphasize the relationship to the wooded site.

President and COO of Aquatic Development Group, Kenneth L. Ellis, says, "This is perhaps the largest waterpark constructed in the US in the past 20 years and we are very excited to be heading up this project from its earliest concept to its final completion".

"Bill Muirhead, Six Flags Vice President and General Manager agrees, "We are thrilled to have this expansion take place as this further elevates Great Adventure to Super Park Status! It will truly be an impressive facility - I can't wait for opening-day year 2000."

The announcement date of the waterpark's name and its story line has yet be determined.
