'QVC' to Broadcast Live From Holiday World

Santa Claus, IN -- The world's first theme park will host a live broadcast of QVC, the national cable TV shopping channel, later this month. QVC will broadcast for two hours from Holiday World's Holiday Theater on October 25.

"QVC conducted a nation-wide search for a host site for its 'Santa's Toy Shop' program and we are delighted they chose us for their venue," says Holiday World & Splashin' Safari president and general manager, Will Koch. "The opportunity to be featured on this popular national television network is something that will benefit tourism for not just Holiday World, but the town of Santa Claus, and the entire region."

During the two-hour program, which will be broadcast live to more than 70 million homes throughout the U.S., a series of feature stories about Holiday World and the town of Santa Claus will be aired, showing the theme park and town to be a year-round tourist destination.

QVC, a $2.6 billion company headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is an e-commerce leader, marketing a wide variety of brand-name products in such categories as home furnishing, licensed products, fashion, beauty, electronics and jewelry. The two-hour program to be broadcast from Holiday World will feature holiday gift items. The host for the show will be David Venable.

The public is invited to be part of the audience on October 25. Admission is free and available on a first-come basis. Guests are asked to park in the Holiday World parking lot and they will be directed to the Holiday Theater. The gates will open at 12 noon and the broadcast will run from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm CT.
