Disney Plans to Restrict Smoking in Theme Parks

Anaheim, CA -- Disney announced a plan yesterday to make the air a little more breathable at Disneyland and the four Disney theme parks in Florida.

Beginning January 30 smoking inside the theme parks will be limited to a few designated smoking areas. According to officials the new policy will further restrict the areas where smoking is permitted. Currently smoking is not permitted in attraction lines, waiting areas, shops, shows and restaurants.

According to officials the new policy is in response to growing guest concerns about smoking in the public areas of theme parks. The new policy is also the strictest policy of any theme park operator in the US.

Industry experts expect that other theme park operators may revise their smoking policies to follow Disney's lead.
