San Antonio, TX -- Following another successful season in 2000, which ended Oct. 29, SeaWorld San Antonio will expand its operating schedule in 2001 to the end of November.
"San Antonio continues to grow as a preferred family destination," said Michael Catcott, general manager of SeaWorld San Antonio, the world's largest marine life adventure park. "We believe this growth, coupled with generally favorable weather in November, warrants an addition to our operating schedule."
The park, which normally operates from early March to the end of October, will add November weekends, plus the day after Thanksgiving, to the 2001 schedule. Thus, the 2001 season will begin Saturday, March 10, and end Sunday, Nov. 25.
"The longer season will constitute an added bonus to our 2001 season passmembers," Catcott said, "and it will give out-of-town guests more options in planning their SeaWorld visits, especially around the Thanksgiving holiday weekend."
In 2001, SeaWorld San Antonio will add new shows, expand its popular Lost Lagoon water adventure area, open a spacious new home for the world-famous Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale horses and host special events all season long, such as a May appearance by renowned wildlife expert Jack Hanna, star of the globally distributed "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures" TV show.
Catcott said 2001 season passes are available for a limited time at $44.95 plus tax for individuals age 3 or older, including children, adults and senior adults. For an additional $20, the pass also is good for the 2002 operating season, and each pass comes with a coupon book filled with in-park discounts.
"For slightly more than the price of a one-day SeaWorld San Antonio ticket, our 2001 season pass offers the passmember unlimited admission to our park, more days to enjoy the park and new attractions park-wide," Catcott said. "We think that's a tremendous value in family entertainment."
SeaWorld season passes can be ordered on line at SeaWorld's web site www.seaworld.com.
The complete 2001 operating schedule will be as follows: open spring break, daily March 10-18; Fridays through Sundays, March 23-April 8; Easter weekend, April 12-16; Fridays through Sundays, April 20-May 20; daily, May 25-Aug. 12; weekends, Aug. 18-30; Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3; weekends, Sept. 8-Nov. 18; and Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 23-25.
