New Orleans, LA -- Jazzland announced plans to celebrate its successful inaugural season with Holiday Hooray, an extension of its regular operating season during the holidays. The park will re-open on Friday, November 24 and continue to operate on weekends and holidays through New Year's Eve.
"It makes perfect sense to re-open during the holidays," says Terry Prather, general manager of Jazzland Theme Park. "Children are out of school, the weather is cooler and the park will be dressed in its holiday best."
To celebrate the holidays the park will present a variety of festive entertainment including the South's largest aerial laser show, Holiday Laser Lights, a Holiday Cabaret show in Festival Hall and a Critters' Christmas Show in Cajun Dance Hall.
In the Jazz Mall Gazebo a storyteller will spin tales, and merry music can be heard by strolling carolers. Santa will of course be there in Santa's Cajun Village, where children can decorate cookies and ornaments for a nominal fee. Dazzling decorations are sure to delight, and there's even a holiday dinner with all the trimmings to whet your appetite.
Jazzland extends its regular operating season with a special holiday schedule.
The park will will operate on November 24, 25, 26 and December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 20-23 and 26-31 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Admission at the gate for Holiday Hooray will be $17.57 for adults and $13.06 for childrent under four feet. Children under 2 are free and 2000 and 2001 season passes will be accepted during this time.
