Disneyland to Add Rainforest Cafe to New Downtown Disney Complex

Anaheim, CA -- A new 600-seat Rainforest Cafe is slated to open in the new dining and shopping Downtown Disney complex at Disneyland in Anaheim. The new restaurant is expected to be complete by 2001 will be located near the entrance of the new complex.

The new Rainforest Cafe will join the two already in Disney parks in Orlando and Paris. Its trademark rain forest theme, designated A Wild Place to Shop and Eat, will dovetail with the entertainment and adventure venues of the parks.

Downtown Disney is part of a major expansion of the park and along with dining and entertainment, will include a new theme park called Disney's California Adventure Theme Park. Downtown Disney will include movie theaters, shopping, nightclubs and the planned Grand Californian Hotel all within easy walking distance. The new complex will also connect Disneyland with Disney's California Adventure theme park.
