Sandusky, OH -- Cedar Point kicked off the 1999 season Sunday, with over $25 million invested in new improvements at the park. Among the highlights unveiled Sunday was the brand-new Camp Snoopy family themed section.

The off-season was a busy one at Cedar Point. The improvements for 1999 include seven new rides and attractions in Camp Snoopy. Including the park's 13th roller coaster, the Woodstock Express.

Other improvements included a 230-room addition to The Breakers Hotel; capital improvements to the docks at the Cedar Point marina; and a new 50's style diner appropriately named Coasters.

On Sunday, Mother's Day, Cedar Point fans lined up to take their first rides of the season on the park's incredible collection of rides and roller coasters. Many who arrived choose to take their first ride of the season on the popular Magnum XL-200 hypercoaster, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
