Agawam, MA - A train on the Riverside Cyclone valleyed a little before 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the New Riverside Park. According to a witness the train came to a stop between the second and third hills on the wooden coaster.
The second hill on the Cyclone has recently been reprofiled, but is unknown if that was a factor in causing the train to come to a stop.
Suprisingly the minor incident occurred only a day after the park began to run with two trains on the coaster for the first time in 15 years.
It is reported that no one was injured in the incident and it is believed that the Cyclone will be back in operation next weekend. We also feel that we should also point out that a train valleying is not uncommon and is rarely considered dangerous.
