Valencia, CA - The original developer of Magic Mountain, Newhall Land & Farming Co. is currently working on plans for a 400-acre addition to the existing theme park.
The development planned for southern and western borders of the theme park would include several hotels and a retail entertainment complex. The developers may include a movie theater, a special effects attraction and a variety of shops and restaurants in the plan.
The plans if completed would change Six Flags theme park into a destination resort. Some in the amusement park industry speculate that the project would allow Magic Mountain to operate on a daily basis year-round.
Newhall Land is presently working with officials from Premier Parks, Inc., owner of Six Flags Magic Mountain. They hope to finalize the plans with in a year. The project is estimated to cost several hundred million dollars.
