St. Louis, MO -- Richard Rodriguez has been called the "King of Roller Coasters," and he is a bona fide champion of roller coaster riding, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
With 14 World Record titles in countries including the United States, Canada, Germany and most recently England, Rodriguez plans to take on The Boss and return the roller coaster World Record to America.
Rodriguez plans to set a World Record at Six Flags St. Louis as he rides The Boxx for one hundred consecutive days, during regular operating times. The daring World Record attempt started on May 3 and will continue through August 10.
"Over the past 23 years, I have competed in record breaking roller coaster marathons throughout the world, and hope to return the World Record to an American theme park in 2001," states Rodriguez.
"In addition to being a park that I have enjoyed visiting my entire life, I have targeted Six Flags St. Louis because of THE BOSS. After its introduction last year, it quickly gained the reputation for being fast, furious and one of the most intense wooden roller coasters in the country. Setting a World Record on THE BOSS will not only be one of my most challenging attempts, but certainly one of my greatest!"
Editor: We'd like to wish Mr. Rodriguez the best in his attempt to claim yet another world record title!
