Six Flags Completes Acquisition of La Ronde Park

Oklahoma City, OK -- Six Flags, Inc. announced that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of the assets of La Ronde, a 146-acre theme park located near downtown Montreal on the former site of the 1967 Montreal World Expo.

Commenting on the transaction, Kieran E. Burke, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Six Flags, stated, "We are very pleased to have acquired La Ronde. Our entry into Montreal provides us another major market presence in North America. The City has a metropolitan population of approximately 3.3 million and is a major tourist destination. Historically, the park has generated attendance in excess of one million visitors on an annual basis. With a significant four year capital investment program expected to commence for the 2002 season, we believe that we can transform La Ronde into a major regional theme park, with meaningful growth in revenue, attendance, and cash flow over the next several years."

Six Flags, Inc. is the world's largest regional theme park company, with thirty-nine parks in markets throughout North America and Europe.
