Conneaut Lake, PA - A group of local businessmen have taken over the operation of Conneaut Lake Amusement Park. The new management team hopes to bring some exciting new changes to the local amusement park.
The new operators have stated that they are currently negotiating to purchase either the Wildcat or Jack Rabbit roller coaster from the former Idora Park, which is located in Youngstown. Idora Park has been closed for 15 years.
The two roller coasters are still standing at the Idora Park site and the original plans for the coasters are available. The new operators are hopeful that one of the coasters can be relocated to Conneaut Park and then fully restored.
The Jack Rabbit seems to be the more likey choice of the two since the Wilcat roller coaster was severely damaged by a fire prior to the Idora Park's final operating season.
In addition to the roller coasters the new operators hope to also purchase the carousel that once operated at Idora as well. The carousel is currently owned and stored by an individual.
Conneaut Park is owned by the Conneaut Lake Park, Inc trustees and is currently being leased to the new opeartors.
