Buena Park, CA -- In addition to visiting Charlie Brown, Lucy and the Peanuts gang at home at their Camp Headquarters, kids 3-11 dropping by Knott's 6th Annual Easter EggMazeMent March 31 - April 22, 2001 will go home with a free pair of Snoopy's light-up Easter Beagle Boppers.
The Easter Beagle Boppers will be given away as part of this year's Easter EggMazeMent, a park-wide adventure that has kids 3-11 visiting various in-park Easter locations on behalf of Snoopy, the Easter Beagle.
"Easter EggMazeMent continues to grow bigger every year to encompass more hands-on adventures spread throughout more of the park," explained Charles Bradshaw, Director of Entertainment Development. "We've created a fun way to make sure our youngest guests don't miss out on any of the walk-through adventures, hands-on arts and crafts and other activities."
Now in its sixth year, Easter EggMazeMent offers kids and their parents the chance to join in on the fun - literally! - of elaborately themed, three-dimensional, walk-through adventures at locations throughout the park. Created by the same Knott's designers responsible for Halloween Haunt, the story-driven attractions have been geared specifically for kids under 12.
"While the walk-throughs are as elaborate as those featured during Halloween Haunt, the story lines, characters and other surprises are completely child-friendly," explained Bradshaw.
For 2001, Easter EggMazeMent features three interactive adventures, each offering detailed scenery, costumed performers, music and special effects.
The "Peanuts Playhouse Egg Hunt" allows children to visit firsthand the Peanuts gang in their exclusive two-story Camp Headquarters. As if jumping into Charles Schulz's beloved comic strip itself, kids will hunt for "magical" Easter eggs in Peppermint Patty's kitchen, Lucy 's bedroom, Sally's garden, Woodstock's "disco" nook, Linus's coloring room, Charlie Brown's TV room and Schroeder's - where else? - music room. Hands-on surprises - such as Lucy's perfume bottles and magical wardrobe mirror - add to the fun along the way.
This year's event also features the delightful "Snoopy's Down on the Farm Hay Bale Maze," "Snoopy's Under-the-Sea Maze" and special shows including kids karaoke. Plus, hop over to the rabbit hole for a visit with Knott's Easter Bunny (nominal fee required for souvenir photo). And, for a seasonal twist, board the Humpty-Dumpty Eggspress and watch the fairy tale magically come to life!
Other event highlights include "Woodstock's Hatchery," where kids can watch baby chicks break out of their shells in Knott's special incubator; special seasonal entertainment including all-new performances of the Camp Snoopy Sidewalk Theatre and "Smokey's Animal Friends," and park-wide decorations and photo props including Snoopy's Giant Easter Basket. Also featured daily throughout the EggMazeMent period is "Crafts Fair 2001," a collection of 30 premiere artisans including tole painters, doll makers, leather and wood crafters, glass blowers and even a chainsaw sculptor!
EggMazeMent guests can enjoy old-fashioned, picnic-style foods including candy apples, whole-roasted corn, kosher dill pickles, BBQ turkey legs and pork ribs, and fresh-baked delicacies from Knott's famous ovens. Also featured are Knott's lavish, all-you-can-eat Sunday brunches themed to Spring-tastic (March 4 through May 27) and Traditional Easter (April 15 only) themes, and Knott's Famous Fried Chicken.
For brunch reservations, call (714) 220-5055. Reservations are not taken at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
All Easter EggMazeMent activities are included with regular Knott's admission. For further details about EggMazeMent and park operating hours visit the Knott's Berry Farm www.knotts.com web site.
