White Water To Open Raintree Island This Spring

Branson, MO -- "Beach Within Reach" White Water, is announcing an all-new area expansion for spring 2000 to include the largest capital expenditure in its two-decade history.

Raintree Island a new island adventure, is interactive family attraction that will include sluices, aqua-shooters, water blasters, splash geysers, elevated walkways, spray bursters, 150-foot-long escape slides, gadgets and pumps. Many elements of the attraction designed to surprise are incorporated throughout the structure, including a massive tipping bucket that intermittently showers 700-gallons of water on the people below.

"This is the ultimate in interactive participatory water activities." said Larry Schmitt, Director of Operations for White Water. "It's like a monsoon without the wind."

Adventure Island Art"The island adventure concept is fairly new to the industry, yet proving to be one of the most exciting water park features worldwide." according to Schmitt. "There will be more than 60 water elements -- water to slide on, water to spray with, and water to splash in."

Raintree Island is designed for families with kids, but the entire island adds more beach and sunning areas for those looking to sit and relax.

The new Raintree Island is currently under construction and will encompass 20,000 square feet. The more than one-million-dollar addition allows for additional capacity of up to 800 people, substantially increasing the size of the park.

White Water owned and operated by the Silver Dollar City Corporation, is located on Branson's famed 76 Country Boulevard, and currently includes 12 water rides and attractions. Raintree Island will open with White Water's 2000 season on May 13th.
