Four Riders Rescued From New Jersey Roller Coaster

Atlantic City, NJ -- Four passengers aboard a roller coaster at Steel Pier Amusement Park, were rescued Saturday by fire officials after the coaster train got stuck nearly 40 feet above the ground.

Witnesses said that accident occurred around 4 p.m. after the two front wheels on the train derailed from the steel track. The passengers' two adults and two children were forced to remain in the car until fire officials arrived on the scene. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

The roller coaster a Schwarzkopf designed compact steel twister was closed following the incident. State officials commented Sunday that they plan to conduct an investigation.
