Sandusky, OH -- Cedar Fair, L.P. a publicly traded partnership which owns and operates five amusement parks, announced the opening of the Breakers Tower last Friday, a 10-story addition to the historic Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, this Memorial Day Weekend.
Richard L. Kinzel, president and chief executive officer, explained that the Breakers Tower includes a total of 230 rooms and suites, featuring 17 luxurious Horizon Suites with private balconies, and a huge Presidential Suite on the tenth floor. All of the suites have spectacular views of Lake Erie and the Cedar Point Beach, while many of the upper-level rooms on the south side of the hotel offer picturesque views of Sandusky Bay and the popular amusement park.
The Breakers Tower also includes a special family floor, furnished with a PEANUTS decor, in honor of the introduction of Camp Snoopy, Cedar Point's new multi-million dollar family play-land. The new hotel addition also includes a 350-seat T.G.I. Friday's restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining areas, and a 1,050-square-foot indoor swimming pool.
"At Cedar Point, we are dedicated to creating a full-resort atmosphere, and the addition of Breakers Tower is another step toward achieving that goal," said Kinzel. With this addition, the Hotel Breakers is now the second largest hotel in Ohio with 650 suites and rooms, and Cedar Point now offers more than 1,000 guest rooms in all, added Kinzel.
