Kings Island, OH -- Leslie Smith of Toledo, Ohio became the one-millionth guest to ride the Son of Beast roller coaster at Paramount's Kings Island on Monday, June 25 at 3:12 p.m. Accompanied by her boyfriend PJ Hagan of West Chester, Ohio she stepped into the train, tightly griped the harness and experienced a ride they will never forget.
Upon her return to the station Leslie was greeted with gifts, balLoons, photographers and videographers present to capture her reaction as she was proclaimed the one-millionth guest to ride. As the chosen lucky one Leslie received a 2001 and 2001 family season pass and a Son of Beast prize package.
Son of Beast is the tallest, fastest and only looping wooden roller coaster on the planet, and sets five roller coaster world records. Son of Beast won the "Popular Science Award," "Best of What's New in General Technology," from Popular Science Magazine and was included in A&E's Top Ten Coasters in the world for 2000, ranking number three.
