Iowa Great Lakes, IA -- Save the Park announced that they had a record day on Tuesday, raising $665,000 in just 24 hours. The non-profit group a part of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum is attempting to raise $5.5-million by August 1, to save historic Arnolds Park.
"With a day like that our goal is well within reach," says Sue Richter, fund-raising chair. "We are extremely optimistic."
"Our Brick and Bumper Car Blitz has also been a huge success. In less than 24 hours we have had 90 calls for bricks and 9 for the bumper cars but we still have a long way to go to raise the last million," added Richter.
There are only two days left to help the Save The Park organization reach its goal of $5.5 million. As of Wednesday morning the group had raised $4.4 million and had $1.1 million to go.
The August 1 deadline is coming fast and this is the final chance for the public to help save the historic amusement park.
A donation of $500 or more will earn you a place in history with your name being placed on a brick on the walkway at Arnolds Park. For a $5,000 donation you get your name placed on a car on one of the amusement park's rides.
Mark your name in history, call today with your pledge and help save Arnolds Park for future generations. To donate, contact the Maritime Museum by calling 1-888-OKOBOJI.
