Youngstown, OH -- Idora Park suffered another blow last Thursday, July 26 as a bulldozer demolished what remained of the Jack Rabbit and Wildcat wooden coasters.
The two coasters were nearly all that remained at the defunct park after the historic ballroom was destroyed in a blaze earlier this year.
The property owner the Mount Calvary Pentecoastal Church ordered the demolition without notice in response to safety concerns. City officials have asked that the coasters be removed since they were hazardous to the public.
Both the Jack Rabbit and Wildcat roller coasters were listed on the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) preservation list.
