Coaster Trains Collide at Canobie Lake Amusement Park

Salem, NH -- Five people received minor injuries when the trains on the Yankee Cannonball roller coaster at Canobie Lake Park collided Friday afternoon.

The accident happened when one of the two trains returning to the station failed to stop and hit the other stopped in the station. The train in the station was being loaded at the time of the collision.

According to reports the brakes on the coaster may have failed. Canobie Lake will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

The injured were taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
