Louisville, KY -- Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and WAVE-TV are teaming up for a Skycoaster wedding on Wednesday morning, August 1. One brave couple selected from a search which began on July 16 will literally say, "I do" live on the WAVE 3 Sunrise television while flying on the park's new 16-story thrill ride.
WAVE 3 Sunrise hosts Dawne Gee and Chris Parente began the search for the daring duo by asking couples to call in and tell them why they should be married on the Skycoaster.
The selected couple will say their vows live on television, while ascending to the top of the 167-foot launch tower. Following the ascent the couple will pull the "rip-cord" to freefall and soar through a steel arch at speeds of up to 70 mph.
The daring couple will be joined by 50 of their closest friends and family for the wedding ceremony. A reception at Six Flags will follow and the couple will receive special gifts including season passes to the park and a bedroom set compliments of Haverty's Furniture.
